The village of Ban Don is located 45km north-west of Buon Ma Thuot, the heart of Vietnam Central Highlands. This village is known for the long tradition of elephant taming and interesting legends of the Elephant King.

The elephant was major transport means in Central Highlands, now this is less popular but locals still use them to carry heavy things. They are very kind and they are treated as human friends.
